Urgent Prayer Request from Zimbabwe

I received this today, from a very good friend. The note is from Steve Larmey, Vice President of Young Life Africa, (pictured with his family). Please read and then get involved by offering your fervent prayers. To give you more insight as to what is going on in Zimbabwe. At the end of the article I will provide you with a link to learn more about Zimbawe.

The situation in Zimbabwe is desperate for our staff Patson and his family. He has been targeted because of the work they have been doing and the impact they have been having with kids in the Matopo Hills.  Because he has worked side-by-side with a white person and they are attracting many young people, the government assumes this is political and that our white staff Pierre and Rentia are really anti-government operatives who Patson and Sindie are colluding with. Also our work to feed 300 orphans a week is seen as a way to buy votes away from the ruling party.

Please pray for Patson, Sindie and their baby. If you are able...

fast and pray for their safety and providence.  For the first time I am very concerned about their physical safety.  Pierre and Rentia are in South Africa now in safety but want to return to help.  Pray also for our 20+ volunteers who also could be targeted for repression.  Pray for a miraculous intervention by the Lord to end this spiraling nightmare for the Zimbabwean people.

Also pray for all the young people in Zimbabwe who will not be able to have clubs and Campaigners and soccer leagues during this crisis.

Beloved  bretherens . I  hope  you are  fine. We  are fine  and under GOD'S grace   since   terror  has come  to us  and  last  night  Sindie  and the 10 month-old  baby  walked  10km on foot as  the  militia  had  threatened to  burn us  alive  because  of our involvement  with Young Life and  Pierre the white man whom  they  claim  was  brought by me to campaign for opposition.  Pray  without  ceasing as  they don't  talk but  come to  beat

Father, we are in desperate need of you. Place a hedge of protection around your people in Zimbabwe and shield them from further harm and despair. Your Word says that whatever we bind on earth in prayer is bound in heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ, we bind the spirit of anger and violence in Zimbabwe. Send forth your Spirit of peace to all people there. Bring immediate restoration to this country and safety to all of your people. Lord, we pray specifically for Patson, Sindie and their baby and all involved in the work of Young Life in Zimbabwe and throughout the world. In this time of fear and confusion, give them strength and wisdom. You are our hiding place. Provide your protection from trouble and bring about deliverance. In the name of your Son we pray, Amen.
